We want you to get to know the awesome leadership we have at Desert Springs at our Tuesday Morning Bible Studies. Our Table Leaders study the Word, direct discussion at the tables, and pray fervently for you…EVERY WEEK!!!
MEET THE TABLE LEADER: JANIE CRAFT
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
My husband, Tom, and I grew up together in Kentucky, married & raised our
children there. We have a daughter, Karen, who is married & still lives in
Kentucky. She & her husband, Chris, are foster parents to 3 children. Our
son, Jason, moved to Arizona with us after serving in the Marine Corp and is
currently a student at the University of Arizona in Tucson. We have lived in
several states over the last 20 years as Tom’s work has moved us around, and this is our 2nd time in Arizona. He currently works with Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I have worked in both medical & law offices in the past, but now enjoy the flexibility of working as a beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, which allows more time for family, Bible study & other interests, such as reading, knitting & cross stitch. Tom & I also have a small travel trailer, and we enjoy travel & getting away to the mountains.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT DESERT SPRINGS & HOW DID IT BECOME HOME TO YOU?
When we moved to Arizona in 2009, we reconnected with our friends, Buzz &
Marsha Bates. We had gotten to know them in 1999 when we were in Arizona the first time. They told us about DSCC & invited us to visit. After visiting a few times that Spring of 2009, we felt that God had a place for us here and we have called DSCC home since then.
WHERE ARE YOU SERVING AT DSCC?
Currently I participate as a greeter once a month on Sunday morning and this
year I am a facilitator for a table of wonderful women in our Tuesday
Morning Bible Study.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VERSE & WHY?
Two of my favorite Bible verses come from Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the
Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all
your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” It assures me
that I can fully trust God to lead me, but it is also a reminder to acknowledge
Him and His wisdom. He has led us down many different paths (particularly as we moved to several different states), and these verses have given me comfort to face the unknown, in new places to live and new seasons of life.
