MEET THE TABLE LEADER: JUDY MULLINGS
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
My name is Judith Ann Mullings. I love the LORD! I love Bible Study! What a privilege to get to study God’s Words with you Ladies on Tuesday Mornings.
I was born in the Ozarks and raised in the desert. My husband and I went to Kindergarten together. His family and my family went to the same little church in a little farming town in California. We have been married 50+ years. We have 2 sons and a grandson. We enjoy our family very much!
We live in Waddell with a rescue dog, a rescue horse and lots of bunny rabbits. I love watching the sun go down over the White Tank Mountains.
I have several hobbies. I love to read. I always have a book on my night stand that I am reading. I enjoy walking our “run away dog.” I enjoy sewing and embroidering. Working outside in the yard is a treat for me! I have enjoyed horseback riding and team penning and riding my bike.
I graduated from Grand Canyon University when it was Southern Baptist College. I taught school for 30 years. Twenty-seven of those years in the Peoria Unified School District and 3 years in California. I taught Special Education, Learning Disabilities, Grades K- 8. I also helped pilot a Transitional First Grade Program.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT DESERT SPRINGS & HOW DID IT BECOME HOME TO YOU?
Desert Springs Community Church is a blessing to me. Three generations of pastors serving the Lord (a fourth generation growing up). What an encouragement to me! We have been attending DSCC for about 10 years.
WHERE ARE YOU SERVING AT DSCC?
I serve the Lord as a Bible Study Table Facilitator and a 9:30AM Sunday Greeter. I am so thankful for the pastors, pastors’ wives and staff and the opportunity to attend and serve the Lord at DSCC where the Word of God is preached!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VERSE & WHY?
One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray, each f us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
One day, my dad had been moving cattle, and he came riding up on a his horse with a little lamb laying across the horse’s neck. He handed me the little lamb. That lamb became a pet running around outside. We would have to go look for him because he was not always where he should be.
I like this verse because my Lord Jesus always comes looking for me when I have gone astray and wanted my own way! The price my Lord Jesus paid for my sins reminds me how much He loves me.
